Mac turns TWO!

It's official. I am the mom of a two year old. Holy guacamole! Where does time go? It seems like only weeks ago we were anxiously anticipating his arrival, and now he's two years old!

Since Mac was born the weekend of the Master's, his birthday usually falls around the event. This year, we decided to celebrate with a Master's themed party. It was so much fun planning his party, and seeing my "pins" come to life. Last month we hosted a cookout at our house where friends & family joined us to celebrate our little man! We had a BOGIE burger bar, PUTTER potato salad, PAR and beans, a CHIPPING area, Bunker BALLS, and a birthday party wouldn't be complete without cake and ice cream! We served water and lemonade for beverages, and all the kiddos got theirs in golf ball cup that they got to take home with them. It was a fun filled evening celebrating Mac! He got lots of birthday surprises, and has enjoyed breaking in all his new toys.

Dear Mac-

We cannot believe you're two years old. You are growing up way too fast! You are learning new things everyday, and it's so much fun watching you grow. We are so thankful God gave you to us. You are the cutest kid we've ever seen, and you bring so much joy to our life. You're sweet and a little bit ornery, but nothing worse than a typical 2 year old little boy. We love hearing your contagious belly laugh, and watching you explore new things. We love you to the moon, baby boy! XOXO

Love,
Mommy& Daddy

Halloween 2015

This year we had Mac, the magic dragon on our hands for Halloween! When trying to find the perfect costume for Halloween, I went back and forth about what I wanted him to be. After talking with my mom, we decided the dragon from PB Kids was the perfect fit, and oh how we had the cutest lil' dragon Halloween night!

We had our family and a few friends over that evening for chili and all the fixins. The plan was to take the littles trick or treating after we ate, but we ended up holding off on dinner until after we went out. It was a fun filled evening for everyone! Mac really enjoyed his first big trick or treating experience! He got tons of candy, and his favorite were the suckers. Teiler was such a good helper showing him how it's done!  He liked getting to spend this Halloween with his best girlfriends, Cameryn and Teiler. Mamma (me) has decided we might have to make this an annual tradition to host everyone and trick or treat around our neighborhood.  I say, we're putting this one in the books as a winner!

Our 2nd Annual Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

Last weekend we had our annual family trip to the Pumpkin Patch. My parents, sister, and brother in-law came to the city for the day and we all went to the Orr Family Farm. This is an annual activity we started last year, and we plan to continue over the years as a fall tradition.

Mac wasn't feeling 100%, so it wasn't as much fun as we had anticipated. If he would've felt better, he would've had a ball! He did do a few of the activities and picked out a few pumpkins to bring home. It was a good day as we made some good memories!

18 months old.

We now have an 18 month old! Our little nugget is half way to being two. WOAH, slow down time. I have no idea where time goes, but I know it's going too fast.

Mac is a busy little boy these days! He loves playing outside; jumping on his trampoline, swinging, going for walks in his big blue truck, and playing with his golf clubs are just some of the activities he enjoys outdoors. He also loves any kind of ball; footballs, bouncy balls, baseballs, he loves them all. Any time he sees a ball of any kind he yells, "ball!" and points. He has a pretty good throw already too. It is looking like we could have an athlete in the house. His Poppie got him his first t-ball set, so he'll be knocking home runs by the time he's 2! Mac adores his daddy and Poppie! He still loves bath time, and hates getting his diaper changed. He's eating really well, and LOVES fruit! He is still getting 1 bottle a day before bedtime, but we're planning to try to cut that out in the near future. We tried a couple months back, but we were unsuccessful. However, I don't think a bottle before bedtime is going to hurt him. Mac loves his friends at school, and is developing right on target. He's running everywhere, and talking all the time. He can say several words, and is starting to put words together. It's been so much fun watching him grow, even though some days it's exhausting having a toddler at home! Mac loves his furry sister, and his laugh is contagious. He's now in a 18-24 month clothes, size 6 shoes, and size 5 diapers. I'm not sure on his percentiles, but we've got his appointment next week so we'll find those out then. At his last doctor visit, he was just shy of 28 pounds. Mac is full of life, ALL BOY, and brings us so much joy!

Mac,
You are now well on your way to being two years old. While this makes mommy a little sad, it brings us all pure joy watching you grow and develop. You are so smart and funny! We pray for God's protection over you, and for his plan in your in life. We can't wait to see what your future holds. We love you more than you know, and are blessed to be your parents. Dream big, sweet boy! We love you to the moon! XOXO

Life with a 16 month old.

This week our little nugget turns 16 months old. He's growing up right before our eyes, and some days it doesn't seem possible that over a year has gone by. Mac is Mr. Independent! He is so much fun, but can also be quite the handful at times. Getting to watch him learn new things, and grow is one of our greatest blessings! He is in to everything, eats like a big boy, and can say lots of words. At his 15 month check up, he was in the 90% for weight and 95% for height. He is a growing, busy boy!

Being a mama to an active toddler some days is just flat out hard. At 16 months, he knows exactly what he wants but just doesn't know how to always tell us. This little boy can have quite the temper at times, and knows how to throw a mean fit when things don't go his way. He understands everything we say, but doesn't always make the best choices. Discipline has been challenging, but we're learning what works. He tests his daddy and my patience almost daily, but is the funniest little. He runs fast and screams loud. We've had to fully "child proof" our house, as he is in to everything. He's now tall enough to sit things on the counter tops, and just recently learned he can open doors; so he keeps us on our toes. He is quite the ham, and is ALL boy!

Mac, we love you to the moon! XOXO

Mac's First Haircut

Mac had been long overdue for his first haircut. Although I knew it needed to be done, I could never make myself take him to get it done. We decided it was time earlier this month. I took him one Sunday afternoon to Snip-Its. It was a kid friendly atmosphere and I had heard good things from other mama friends about it. However, from the pictures you can see that Mac was pretty upset. Note to self, NEVER stay if there's another kid screaming when you arrive. There was an older little boy throwing a fit about having to get his hair cut and it scared our little man. He didn't know what to think about all that was going on, and the screaming from the chair across from his just threw him over the edge. My mom and I both think that's why Mac was upset. He did pretty good though, and came out looking so cute with his new do! He also got a prize after he was finished, and got his first sucker which he loved! Our little nugget is looking more and more like a big boy!

April wrap-up.

April was a busy month for our little family and it's hard to believe it's already come and gone.We started the month out with Easter. We celebrated our risen savior with our family, and did a little packing. Mac went to visit the Easter Bunny, and loved him! It was a busy weekend, filled with lots good memories.

The following week, Mac turned ONE! My little baby boy is officially a toddler. ::sniff sniff:: But, he's such a ball of fun!

The day after Mac's birthday, mommy & daddy went on their first adult vacation. We went to Mexico with a group of friends to watch the Cummens get hitched. It was a fun and mostly relaxing trip for us.

The weekend after we got home from our trip we celebrated Mac's first birthday with family and friends. His Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party was a success in this mama's book. It was the perfect celebration for our little man!

We packed the next few days after Mac's party, then on the 23rd (which was also Clete's 28th birthday) we sold our first house and bought a one. There will be more to come on the new house soon! For now, we're getting all settled in and making this house our home.

April was a super, jam-packed, busy month! I'm a little relieved that it's over, as this month looks to be a little more low key for us. That's a wrap.

Mac's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 1st Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated Mac's birthday with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party. Mac's 1st birthday party was a great success! My sweet friend Kylie from OK Momma helped me with some of the decor, Jill at Blue Sky Party Cakes did his cakes and cupcakes, and Cookiedoodle out of Jenks, OK did the sugar cookies we had for party favors.

The party was a fun 1st birthday celebration for our little nugget! We are so grateful to all of our family and friends who helped us celebrate Mac turning one. Mac got lots of new goodies, and also had lots of cake!
